First Story: Key Player Palmer Available for Important Capital Clash with Arsenal

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca announced on the final weekday that Cole Palmer is available for selection for the team's significant Premier League fixture against London opponents Arsenal.

The 23-year-old English midfielder had been sidelined due to a fractured toe suffered after an accidental incident.

“He is available to start and to play,” Maresca said. “The whole team is delighted.”

This season, Palmer has been limited to four outings across all competitions, netting two goals.

After joining from Manchester City in 2023, he has recorded 45 strikes and 29 setups in 101 games for Chelsea.

“He is our most valuable asset, we are delighted he is back, we need to allow him time to be completely ready,” Maresca continued. “He has been brilliant historically and no doubt he is going to do exceptionally well for this club in the future.”

2. The Toffees Get No Explanation for Rejected Idrissa Gueye Dismissal Challenge

The Merseyside club were unsuccessful in their challenge against Idrissa Gueye's sending off for a fight with fellow player Michael Keane during the squad's single-goal triumph at Manchester United.

The veteran Senegalese player was shown a red card only early on into the contest after slapping Keane during a dispute over a misplaced pass.

The player quickly said sorry, and the pair appeared reconciled later in a mock social media video.

However, the appeal against the red card was denied, and Gueye must serve a three-game ban, making Everton shorthanded for their next fixture against Newcastle United.

“We have appealed it and our appeal was turned down,” coach David Moyes revealed. “We haven’t been given any reason why it was turned down but we did appeal it.”

Inquired about any further fallout from the incident, Moyes continued: “The matter was resolved instantly, it was done, that was it, we moved on swiftly and it was all sorted within the dressing room.”

Third Story: Wissa Trains with Newcastle for First Time since Setback

The club's recent signing Yoane Wissa has trained with his new teammates for the first time since sustaining a knee problem shortly after his move from Brentford in September.

Manager Eddie Howe announced the news on the end of the week but did not disclose a potential return date for the 29-year-old.

Newcastle brought in the forward for £55m to fill the void left by Alexander Isak, who joined Liverpool for a record-breaking transfer fee.

Unfortunately, Wissa was injured while on national team service before he could make his debut for Newcastle.

“His recovery is going smoothly, he trained with us for the first time on midweek, so I was very happy with how he looked,” Howe stated. “This marked his debut in a competitive setting with the squad. Let’s see how he responds today.”

Howe added: “We have a target return date, but it’s likely best if I keep that to myself. We wish to prevent any disappointment. Of course, we want to include him as promptly.”

Additionally, the defender will be out of action for a month with a hamstring issue.

4. Liverpool' Poor Form ‘Irrelevant’, Says West Ham Boss Nuno

West Ham United head coach Nuno Espírito Santo has stated that Liverpool' recent poor form “is largely irrelevant” as his team prepares to face the struggling top-flight champions.

The Liverpool manager's team has suffered six losses in seven recent Premier League games, falling out of the upper half of the table.

Nevertheless, Nuno highlighted that there can be no room for overconfidence when the sides meet on Sunday at the their home ground.

“Liverpool is a good team and in football, what matters is what you do on the day,” Nuno remarked. “So what we expect is the champions of the Premier League, players that are skilled and able of doing great things, so we have to be ready.

“The history of the results before, the performance of the teams, doesn’t really matter. It is about the day. Knowing that we are going to face a high-quality team, that has players able of doing fantastic things, so we have to prepare thoroughly, to perform.”

West Ham will have available Lucas Paquetá after his ban, while Crysencio Summerville and Dinos Mavropanos are stepping up their recovery from injury.

5. Gibbs-White in Contention for Forest against Brighton

Nottingham Forest's manager Sean Dyche is hopeful that Morgan Gibbs-White will be ready for the team's at home match against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.

The English player missed Thursday's Europa League match against the Swedish side due to a back injury.

“Hopefully it’s settling down,” Dyche said as he got ready to face Fabian Hürzeler's team, who have taken a decent haul from their past three matches.

“It’s like a bad back, but a morning sort of injury, one where you just rest awkwardly or move improperly. So we’re not expecting, at this stage anyway, that it’s very severe and it’s improving already. So we’re hopeful that it’ll be okay for the weekend.”

Murillo was feeling his hamstring after the comfortable Europa League win, but Dyche said the player “is expected to be okay”.

Meanwhile, Ola Aina (thigh injury), Douglas Luiz (thigh), the winger (hamstring), the striker (knee), and the defender (hip) are likely to miss out.

Sixth Story: Glasner: Conference League Defeat Won't Hinder Palace

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner believes that the setback of midweek's European defeat to the French side is a sign of how far the club has come in competing on two fronts.

The FA Cup holders went ahead at the away ground through Tyrick Mitchell's opening period goal but were pegged back by Liam Rosenior's side, who moved up to second in the group standings.

The Eagles now switch focus to domestic action with a home match against the Red Devils, and Glasner is optimistic his team can keep up their challenge for a top four place.

“Comparable to the recent setback at Goodison Park, it just feels that it was entirely needless and it is our fault,” Glasner commented. “Alternatively, we have to accept it. The effort was there but it is a game we shouldn’t definitely lose.”

Glasner stated that Borna Sosa would be absent for the weekend's match after he stayed behind to Strasbourg, but Will Hughes, who went off during the opening period against the opponents, is expected to be in the matchday squad.
