The Fifth Toy Story Film Teaser Sets The Beloved Duo Versus a Digital Device
It has been 30 years since the first Toy Story movie was released, launching the animation giant as a leading animation studio and bringing viewers to beloved figures like Woody (Tom Hanks) and the space ranger (Tim Allen), who are now famous worldwide.
Coming in 2026, the fifth installment is set to arrive. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 landed recently, providing a glimpse into the storyline but keeping viewers wondering how it will resolve the ending of Toy Story 4.
Bonnie's New Toy: A Digital Device Frightens the Gang
In the teaser reveals the young girl — who inherited Andy's toys when he left for college — getting a latest toy, one that terrifies the familiar toy group. She acquires her first tablet computer, and she is excited about it.
Presumably, the amphibian-inspired device will animate just like Bonnie's other toys. Still, the toys appear to consider it as a danger intending to supplant them, which it probably is.
Woody's Return: Mysteries from Toy Story 4
One thing the teaser avoids is what the sheriff is back with his friends in the child's bedroom. The finale of Toy Story 4 depicted him set off on a fresh journey with Bo Peep (the actress), traveling with a fair and assisting prize toys find good homes.
Certainly, Pixar will address the aftermath of Toy Story 4 in the movie. Witnessing him appear in Bonnie's room unexpectedly is somewhat puzzling, however. It also makes us wonder whether his partner will have returned with him. And what about Duke Caboom (Keanu Reeves)?
Connections from the Last Installment
Fortunately, some elements are carrying over from the earlier movie. The last thing the cowboy did before departing for his fresh path was pass his symbol of authority to the cowgirl (the voice actor), leaving her as the leader of Bonnie's bedroom. The clip displays the badge pinned to her shirt.
It is hoped she is still the driving force among the group.
Toy Story 5 debuts on the scheduled date.
